Sometimes a project outgrows the Linear workspace it started in and gets its own workspace. You can already switch between those workspaces in Linear. From today, LinCal can too.
Open the account menu (your avatar) to connect another workspace, or to switch between the ones you already connected, without signing in again.
How to connect another workspace
- Open the account menu and choose Connect workspace.
- Linear’s authorization screen opens.
- In the top-left, pick the workspace you want to connect to LinCal. You need to already be a member of that workspace in Linear.
- Click Authorize.
You land back in LinCal on the newly connected workspace.
Switch on the fly
Once more than one workspace is connected, the same account menu lists them. Click a workspace to switch. There is no second sign-in.
LinCal remembers the last workspace you used, and keeps filters, favorites, and display settings separate per workspace.
If a workspace in the list says Reconnect, its authorization has expired. Click it (or Connect workspace) and authorize again.
If you log out of LinCal, you will need to reconnect your workspaces after you sign back in.
Share links include the workspace
New share links now carry the workspace they belong to.
If someone opens a share link while they are in a different LinCal workspace, LinCal switches them to the linked one, as long as they are signed in with the same Linear account and have already connected that workspace in LinCal. Recipients still need Linear access to that workspace; share links are not public.
Older share links do not name a workspace. Open them while you are in the same LinCal workspace they were copied from and the view still applies. New links can switch workspaces automatically.
Pricing is unchanged
Plans are still billed per Linear workspace. Connecting several workspaces does not change that. You can switch between a paid workspace and a free one in the same session; each workspace keeps its own plan.
